Dr. Piramanayagam Paramasivan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist in the Department of Gastroenterology at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. In addition to obtaining the MD (Medicine) postgraduate degree and the DM (Gastroenterology) superspeciality degree, Dr. Paramasivan has attended several specialised training workshops to enhance his professional knowledge and skills.

Dr. Piramanayagam Paramasivan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist in the Department of Gastroenterology at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. In addition to obtaining the MD (Medicine) postgraduate degree and the DM (Gastroenterology) superspeciality degree, Dr. Paramasivan has attended several specialised training workshops to enhance his professional knowledge and skills.
After his MBBS, Dr. Paramasivan did his rotational internship at the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in Chennai from January 2001 to January 2002, and completed his Junior and Senior Residency at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, from January 2003 to June 2006 as he pursued his MD in Medicine. His next residency stint was during the course of acquiring his doctorate at the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow from July 2006 to June 2009. Subsequently, he joined Apollo Hospitals in August 2009, initially as Senior Registrar, then as Junior Consultant in March 2010 before being promoted to his current designation as Consultant Gastroenterologist.
Dr. Piramanayagam Paramasivan has a large number of research papers, review articles, abstracts and book chapters to his name as first author or co-author, published in peer-reviewed journals, books, etc. He was twice awarded for his poster presentations, and continues to be a regular attendee at conferences connected to his field, either as delegate or faculty member.
